What we belive
Every young person learns more when they can see themselves in the work. Education is not neutral, and neither are the tools we hand young people. Grounded in a tradition that runs through Frantz Fanon, Walter Rodney, Paulo Freire, and bell hooks, ESE Consulting builds for authorship rather than consumption — treating scholars as creators of knowledge and culture, not recipients of it. That conviction is rooted in our work across the African Diaspora, and it holds true for every scholar in every room.

Dr. Deneia Y. Fairweather is an applied cultural anthropologist and the founder and principal of ESE Consulting, LLC. Her work centers African Diasporic communities, decolonial pedagogy, and culturally grounded education, with fieldwork and institutional ties in Belize and Brazil.
She is a Doctoral Lecturer in Anthropology at John Jay College of Criminal Justice (CUNY), faculty at Galen University in Belize. She serves as an Accreditation Commissioner, peer reviewer, and Global Advisory Council member with the International Accrediting Commission for Digital Education (IACDE), and as Secretary and Co-Treasurer of the Association of Black Anthropologists, a section of the American Anthropological Association. A Fulbright-Hays GPA Fellow in Brazil, she is also the creator of the trademarked Anthropology in Motion™ method.
Dr. Fairweather holds a Ph.D. in Applied Cultural Anthropology and an M.Ed. from the University of South Florida, along with a Florida Professional Educator's Certificate with certifications in exceptional student education, reading, and elementary education, and a gifted endorsement.
